Abstract

The third annual HamSCI book club: a discussion on shortwave radio as it was used in World War II.
The text being used for this discussion is the novel: All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.
This text has a lot of useful themes and ideas for the world of amateur radio research, however,
great emphasis will be placed on amateur radio as it relates to war efforts, and specifically
the employment of shortwave radio during WWII which notably took place during Solar Cycle 18.
Some particulars regarding the solar cycle and it's impact on telecommunications during the way will
be discussed. Prior knowledge of the text is not required to enjoy the presentation.
